Progress and traffic management update August 2022

Earthworks cut and fill operations are substantially complete with finishing works ongoing at Zone A and Zone D. Pond excavation and mainline drainage works are substantially complete with outfall works to ponds complete. Side road finishing works are ongoing, along with drainage at Dungiven and Drumahoe and further works to access tracks are continuing at Zone B. Kerbing and footway works are ongoing.

Accommodation works are ongoing at Baranailt (Zone D) and Fawney (Zone A). Pavement works for base course and binder course complete and surfacing works to side roads and access tracks are ongoing. Fencing operations are ongoing throughout the site.

NIW diversions and new installations are underway site wide and landscaping activities, VRS and finishing works are ongoing. Further traffic management will be required on the mainline and side roads to facilitate finishing works in Dungiven and Feeny Rd.

From Friday 5th August the new A6 mainline at Dungiven roundabout to Claudy will be closed to allow permanent works to be completed on this section of the road. Traffic will travel along the A6/ Glenshane Rd / Foreglen Rd to Dungiven/Claudy and vice versa.

The Feeny Road will close at its junction with the A6/ Glenshane Rd/ Foreglen Rd on Monday 8th August 2022 for approx. 1 week. This closure is required to complete final surfacing and permanent road marking works on the Feeny Rd.

During the closure a signed diversion will be in place via B74 Glenshane Rd, B69 Baranailt Rd, A6 Glenshane Rd and vice vera for road users. Local access will be maintained. Please see below map.
