Progress Update October 2022

Earthworks cut and fill operations are complete with finishing works ongoing throughout all zones of the scheme.

Pond excavation, outfall works and mainline drainage are complete.

In parallel with the mainline snagging; side road finishing works and snagging operations are ongoing. Works to access tracks continue at Zones’ A, B & C.

Kerbing and footway works are substantially complete on all main junctions with footway surfacing ongoing.

Accommodation works remain work-in-progress, particularly in zones A, B and C.

Pavement works to include base/binder course are complete on both mainline and sideroads. Surface course is now complete on all main junctions. In the coming months side roads and access tracks will be ongoing. Surfacing works will be completed.

Fencing operations are ongoing throughout the site.

NIW diversions/new installations and landscaping activities in operation site wide.

On the mainline, VRS works are substantially complete with ongoing snagging works. Side roads/access track installation to remain in progress.

Further Traffic Management will be required on the mainline and side roads to facilitate finishing works. This will apply to various locations throughout the project.

Full road closures on the main network connection points of Drumahoe and Dungiven have been completed. These were implemented by Temporary Traffic Management to facilitate finishing and pavement operations.

The above update marks various commendable milestones, a great achievement on joint working between DFI/AECOM/Contractor, not to mention the general public.

Structures

All concrete works on structures complete with overall access steps 70% complete.

Bird netting to the steel beams is ongoing.

Snagging works are continuing to all structures with several bridges completed already.
